Minister & Staff

Reverend Murphy was raised in Rhode Island and California. “Part of my family was Roman Catholic and part was Protestant,” notes Bob. “I love both sides of my family. However, the decision to become a Unitarian Universalist was my own decision and it was one of the best decisions that I ever made!”

Bob received his Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and then spent several years in ministry in North Carolina before coming to UUFF in 2000. Bob is married to Lyn Dalzell, who is a physician’s assistant with a background in social work.

Pairing environmentalism, economic justice“, a 2007 article in The Boston Globe described Bob’s leadership of Fellowship’s activities on behalf of environmental justice. In 2009 the UUA General Assembly adopted UUFF’s program, “Ethical Eating,” which Bob framed and moved forward, as a national subject for continuing study. For 2010, Bob and the congregation have proposed “Green Revolution in Religion” as a study topic for approval by the UUA General Assembly.

Reverend Murphy’s office hours are on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 pm.
