For Visitors
Where is the church located? We’re in a residential section of Falmouth between Route 151 and downtown Falmouth. Our meetinghouse is next to the Falmouth Jewish Congregation at the junction of Sandwich Road and Hatchville Road.
When do services start? Every Sunday, year round, the one hour service starts at 9:30 a.m. There’s a coffee hour afterward and visitors are very welcome.
Where can I park? Turn in at the sign and park anywhere in the parking lot to the front and side of the building.
What should I wear? We dress informally. The building is well heated in the winter but not air conditioned in summer so the doors to the meadow are left open to catch the breeze.
How does the church welcome children? Children are welcome to stay with their parents for the service or to attend Sunday school or preschool or nursery care during the service. On the first Sunday of each month the children start service with their parents then go to Sunday School before the morning readings.
Is the church handicapped accessible? Yes. The building is all on one floor and there are no steps up to the door. We have hearing aids and large print hymnals and the rest rooms are fully accessible.
What kind of service can I expect? Our service follows a traditional Protestant format. We start with a welcome to visitors who are invited to stand and introduce themselves if they want to. Then we light our chalice, sing a hymn, hear readings, meditate, and then have a 20 minute sermon, share joys and sorrows, and sing a final hymn. We have a choir, a pianist, and occasionally have other instrumental music. We always have refreshments after the service for members, friends and visitors to socialize.
